Hello! We hope that you are doing well.
Being consistent is something which we all desire. One client actually asked us the other day for some advice. They love books, own quite a few books but they couldn’t find any time to read them!
A golden piece of advice that has been proven true over the years, is to start off small but do it consistently (as well as potentially increasing the frequency of it). By doing this, one spreads the workload over a period of time and achieves more in the long term, as opposed to doing lots of things in a short period of time (which can demotivate and tire a person out!).
We’ll give you an example, say, a person takes sixty minutes to read a book, they have a few options on how they go about it:
- Read the book all in one go (dedicate a full sixty minutes on one day)
- Read the book in stages across the week (dedicate ten minutes per day which will take six days to finish off the book)
- Read the book in stages across a longer period (dedicate five or ten minutes on one day of the week)
We’re sure you’ll agree that options 2 and 3 would be better because a smaller amount of effort is required over a longer period of time, therefore, making it easier to concentrate and stay motivated. However, we say this in general terms as it could be that option 1 would be better for you (better as in more suited to you).
It doesn’t have to be about books, it could be about anything.
