Introduction

The Qaa-idah is the foundation for reading Arabic, in particular to the Qur’an. It provides us with the tools in order to read the letters correctly. This is the first step taken in order to master reading the Qur’an.

If we have not studied the Qaa-idah, we will not be able to read the Qur’an correctly. Why, we may ask? It is because we learn about the different diacritical marks (known as harakaat), how we join letters together, when to stretch letters, recognising the shapes of letters within a word, and so on, all in Qaa-idah.

It is like the foundations we build for a house. If the foundations are weak, how will the house stay standing for long?

What we offer

Here at Life’s Tutoring, we are here to help you or your child succeed in their studies in regards to learning to read the Qur-aan.

We separate Tajweed (pronouncing letters correctly with their qualities) from Qaa-idah to make it easier for the student, as we feel it can become overwhelming learning these two subjects together. Once a student completes the Qaa-idah, they progress onto Tajweed – learning the rules as well as reading the Qur’an properly.

We have over ten years’ experience both in teaching and tutoring.

We have taught students from as young as 5 to as old as 80 years old!

Learn live with a teacher or from a pre-recorded course (pre-recorded option coming soon) at your own pace.

No deadlines to complete the course so you can learn to master the reading of the Qur-aan at your own pace. Our teachers are very patient as they favour quality over quantity and value enthusiasm, hence why they are your well-wishers by wanting you to succeed.

Additional tutor support will be provided with live lessons such as contact via WhatsApp, Facebook etc.

How it works

You select the number of lessons that you require

We will then contact you via email before the first session, asking you to explain your motivation and intention to learn to read the Qur-aan (this will give us an idea about yourselves as a student and your needs)

We will then agree on a suitable day and time for your lessons to take place

Please note – Lessons are delivered online usually over Zoom, for in-person lessons, this can be considered but for an additional charge.

This course is on a one-to-one basis, if you wish for it to be taught to a group, please contact us and we will offer a discounted rate.

After completing the Qaa-idah course, students will then progress onto the Tajweed course which further builds on their reading skills. Please see this page for further information.
